JIS College of Engineering has hosted prestigious Mission 10X Workshop, imparted by WIPRO technologies nationwide, for couple of times as a sequel programme in February and April 2012.
In the first phase during 6th to 10th February 2012, the workshop on "High Impact Teaching Skills" has been organized. This event certification according to the framework of WIPRO is provided by Dale Carnegie Training. In addition to that, all the participants are provided with certification of ISTE.
A total of 30 faculty members from JIS Group of Institutions participated and performed in this Mission 10X imparted training programme. In statistics, 19 faculty members from JIS College of Engineering, 7 from Narula Institute of Technology and 4 from Guru Nanak Institute of Technology attended making the total team-size 30.
Under the framework of MXLA each participants has to deliver a total of five presentations each of 2 minutes duration in a spectacular display of teaching –learningskills. The event was reached utmost standardization by the presence of top quality resource person of the stautue of Dr. Sandeep Shastri (Pro- VC, Jain University), Mr. K. Muralidhar, and Mr. Sai Vijay.
As an illustrating example of Insutry-Institute-Initative, this event was completely shaped by Mr. P. Srinivas Reddy, Academic Relationship Manager, WIPRO Mission 10X who provided all kind of support and help before, during and after the events including his high-end anchoring during valediction which itself is a learning experience.
The valedictory session was graces by the presence of Prof. Alok Banerjee, Vice- Chancellor, University of Kalyani who was Chief Guest. The session was commenced by the opening address of the Director Prof. Asit Guha. This was gradually followed by the encouraging thoughts and comments from Mr. U.S. Mukherjee, Dy. Director JIS Group, Chief Guest himself, Prof. U. Bandyopadhyay Principal JISCE and Prof. J.K. Das Principal, NIT. The Authority and dignitaries jointly handed over the certificates to the participants.
The five-day events has been conducted as well as participated with very high degree of involvement and reportedly considered as a top quality event.
The first phase is basically an orientation and value addition programme which, in sequel, has been followed by Mission 10X Advanced Workshop. This event is an extension to the previous one which includes exhaustive assignment preparation. The participants from the previous event with little modification again joined this programme in which the faculty members from JIS Group of Institutions who completed 5-day programme earlier have also joined in addition to existing participants.
This two-day event during 4th- 5th April, 2012 has been graced by the Resource person Ms. Rama Pattanaik who displayed and guided the participants how to prepare quality course materials maintaining certain benchmark and standard accrding to the MXLA format. The laminated certification photograph of previous event on "High Impact Teaching Skills" was presented to the participants by the Resource person and Prof. U. Bandyopadhyay, Principal JIS College of Engineering who provided the concluding remarks.
