HOD, Department of Mechanical EngineeringMechanical Engineering is by far the largest of the engineering disciplines. Being a mother trade it forms the foundation for other disciplines while boasting plethora of opportunities in the field of technology. The world wide popularity and perceptible applicability in other spheres makes the knowledge of mechanical engineering highly relevant for acquainting the latest developments. The broad range of career paths for mechanical engineers includes almost every part of industry or business including Automotive, Aerospace, Power, HVAC, Railways and Defense industries. A large number of mechanical engineers go into manufacturing of computer and electronic products, machinery and transportation equipments. The Department of Mechanical Engineering strives to graduate highly qualified engineers, maintain internationally recognized research and provide quality professional and community service to the nation. The department offers a beautiful ambience, highly qualified faculties, modern high-tech laboratories, well stocked books and journals in the library.
The B. Tech Program of Mechanical Engineering Department in JISCE was introduced in the year 2009. Henceforth the team ME has worked sincerely to develop a perfect infrastructure suitable for nurturing the budding engineers. The state of the art workshop, laboratories, advanced machineries and instruments have provided our students ample exposure to become industry ready human resources. Adoption of advanced teaching learning mechanisms like flipped learning methodology has revolutionized the learning environment to create a benchmark in the whole nation. With continuous training of advanced courses, technical seminars, foreign internship and industrial visits, undergraduate students of the department are strengthened to face the outer world with enough confidence and leadership qualities.
Keeping the continuity of growth, M. Tech program in "Production Engineering" specialization was introduced in our department in 2011. The department is always focused in producing educational excellence by imparting need based Technical Education for building the prospective career of students both in industries, research organization as well as education sector. On behalf of the mechanical engineering department I would like to express my heartiest welcome to all budding engineers to join our family of knowledge, thinking and innovation.
