N-LIST e-ShodhSindhu

"National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST)", being jointly executed by the e-ShodhSindhu Consortium, INFLIBNET Centre and the INDEST-AICTE Consortium, IIT Delhi provides for i) cross-subscription to e-resources subscribed by the two Consortia, i.e. subscription to INDEST-AICTE resources for universities and e-ShodhSindhu resources for technical institutions; and ii) access to selected e-resources to colleges. The N-LIST project provides access to e-resources to students, researchers and faculty from colleges and other beneficiary institutions through server(s) installed at the INFLIBNET Centre.

ShodhGanga

"Shodhganga" is the name coined to denote digital repository of Indian Electronic Theses and Dissertations set-up by the INFLIBNET Centre. The word "Shodh" originates from Sanskrit and stands for research and discovery. The "Ganga" is the holiest, largest and longest of all rivers in Indian subcontinent. The Ganga is the symbol of India's age-long culture and civilisation, everchanging, ever-flowing, ever-loved and revered by its people, and has held India's heart captive and drawn uncounted millions to her banks since the dawn of history. Shodhganga stands for the reservoir of Indian intellectual output stored in a repository hosted and maintained by the INFLIBNET Centre.

Digital Learning Repository

AICTE recommends an array of high quality learning resources for students.

NDLI

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.

NPTEL

NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning), is a joint venture of the IITs and IISc, funded by the Ministry of Education (MoE) Government of India, and was launched in 2003. Initially started as a project to take quality education to all corners of the country, NPTEL now offers close to 600+ courses for certification every semester in about 22 disciplines.

E-Books

The JISCE Library has purchased the IEEE Wiley e-Books to offer online access to approximately 1,060 eBooks. This eBooks collection spans numerous content areas, including bioengineering, power and energy, and communication technologies, among other growing areas of research.

Library on Wheels

Due to outbreak of COVID – 19, the library works and services have undergone a major change. In this pandemic situation students are not able to visit the library. In this situation, with the inspiration of JIS Group, the JIS College of Engineering has taken a novel initiative to launch Library on Wheels. It has planned to visit different parts of the state and other states with Book Bank books to deliver the knowledge resources to the door step of the students so that they can continue their studies uninterruptedly.

Library on Wheels

The initiative begun with the launch of a Google Form on 11th July, 2020 to know the current address and contact details of the students. Total 1665 students of 3rd, 5th and 7th semesters enrolled in this programme. The Library on Wheels has started its journey in the morning of 10th August, 2020 with around 210 sets of book bank books to 24 Parganas (N). Till date, Library on Wheels has covered almost 6000 KM with 1304 sets of books to twenty districts, i.e. 24 Parganas (N), Nadia, Hooghly, Bardhaman( East & West), Howrah, Midnapore(East & West), Bankura, Birbhum, Malda, Murshidabad, 24 Parganas(S), Kolkata, Alipurduar, Cochbihar, Dinajpur(East & West), Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalingpong and two other States i.e. Bihar & Jharkhand ended on 18th October. The Library on Wheels also collects the previous semester books from the students.
